AUTO CRASHES INTO TRAIN; ONE IS KILLED

17 Year Old Farm Hand Dies Following Crash At Momence
Clarence Brownfield, 17, Momence farm hand, died at 4:45 o'clock Sunday morning in St. Mary's Hospital as a result of injuries sustained Saturday night when the car in which he was riding, driven by his brother Oliver, collided with the southbound C. & E. L. freight train at the Highway 114 crossing southeast of Momence. Brownfield would have been 18 years old had he lived to today.
The dead boy was born in Missouri April 20, 1913. His parents home is at Roselawn Indiana. He had come to Momence several weeks ago to join his brother in farm work.
The driver of the car, Oliver Brownfield, and his cousin, Wilfred Brownfield, were only slightly hurt. Oliver was exonerated of any blame for this accident at the inquest.
