KERRVILLE — Janice Lynette Pemelton Horner, 64, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 17, 2009, at her home.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1944, in Oakland, Calif., to Hershel and Vivian "Woodward."
Lynette was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Horner.
She is survived by her father, Herschel Pemelton; her brother, Frank Pemelton; her sister, Verleen McFadden; her two daughters, Teresa Bruffett and Lisa Rassi; and her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rachael Horner. Lynette was blessed with seven grandchildren, Matthew Bruffett of San Francisco, Calif., Paul Gilbert of Sand Point, Idaho, Damen Horner, Danita Horner, Amanda Contreras and her husband, Daniel, Kaleb Horner and Breanna Anderson. She also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Raven and Colton.
A longtime resident of California, Lynette also had lived in Nevada and Idaho before moving to Texas and spending her last 17 years in Kerrville. An avid fan of both gardening and genealogy, she began studying her family tree many years back, a hobby she truly enjoyed. Her family always will cherish the insight into the family's history that she provided them. As a descendant of L.B. and Jamima Woodward, the first white settlers of San Saba County, Texas, Lynette will be laid to rest with her ancestors on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Kuykendal Cemetery in Cherokee, Texas, in San Saba County.
A reception celebrating her life will be held at the Horner family home in Kerrville at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 25. All friends are welcome.
