Ila Strasburg Adams, 77, of Lindon passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at her home. She was born September 27, 1931 in American Fork to Evar and Esma Goode Strasburg. She married J. Dean Adams on May 9, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and has been his best friend since they were 13.
Ila grew up in Highland and graduated from American Fork High School where she was active in all sports. She held the state high school high-jump record for many years.
Ila was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings during her life including service at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Riding Club where she competed in barrel racing for many years. Ila was very involved in the community. If you knew her, you loved her and will miss her dearly.
She is survived her husband J. Dean; ten children: Joel (Cheryl) Adams, Randy (Mary K) Adams, Lorie (Bob) Peterson, Russell (Dawanna) Adams, Annette Wright, Jackie Warner, Jeanne (Ed) Lovell, Karen Adams, Phil (Marjie) Adams, LeAnn Adams; 34 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a brother, Leland (Betty) Strasburg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lindon Sixth Ward Chapel, 56 East 600 North, Lindon. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services.
