ARTHUR JOHN BROECKERT
Arthur J. Broeckert, 81, of 105 N. First Ave., St. Nazianz, died unexpectedly, Saturday evening, May 17, 2003, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, shortly after being admitted.
He was born August 31, 1921, in St. Nazianz, son of the late Edward and Clara Gutman Broeckert. Arthur was a 1940 graduate of Valders High School and continued his education in Milwaukee where he attended Auto Mechanic School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
On June 11, 1955 he married Joan Wagner at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz.
Arthur owned Broeckert Bros. Auto Service in St. Nazianz from 1952 until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz, a member of the St. Nazianz American Legion, Post 477, Wagner, Eberle, Sukowaty and retired from the St. Nazianz Fire Department where he was a member for 40 years.
Arthur enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; two children, granchildren, four brothers,one sister, three brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz with the Rev. Robert Wagner, brother-in-law and Rev. Gregory Coulthard officiating.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel is assisting the family.
