Born March 21, 1899 in Morgan, Utah to Meredith and Evelyn Heiner Jones.
He married Elma Jones on December 26, 1926 in Ogden; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Member of the LDS Church, belonging to the Milton First Ward, where he was an Elder. Was a rancher in Morgan County; and later worked for the Civil Service until retirement.
Survivng Preston is his wife, Milton; two sons, Owen P. Jones, Sanford, Florida; Gene A. Jones, Layton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Lloyd Jones, Ogden; Vanda Leland, North Branch, Minnesota. Preceded in death by one son Leo M. Jones; and one grandson.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Milton Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan on Thursday from 7-8 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment: North Morgan Cemetery.
