SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN

William A. Galbraith was born June 18, 1865 to David M. Galbraith and Mary F. (Jewell) Galbraith. He and both of his parents were born in Greene County, Tennessee.

MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted August 9, 1899 in Colfax, Washington and served as a private in Company "C" of the 35th Regiment, U. S. Infantry. He was discharged May 2, 1901 in Presidio, California.

He was receiving $25 a month pension when he applied for admittance to Washington Veterans' Home on December 9, 1928 at the age of 62 years. He indicated that he was a resident of Aberdeen and had lived in the state of Washington since 1899. He was single and had no children.

He was admitted on December 26, 1927 and died January 13, 1930 at Sedro Wolley, Washington. Mr. Galbraith was 68 years of age. He is listed as having a brother, J. S. Galbraith, who resided in Riverside, California.

Mr. Galbraith was buried at the Veterans Home Cemetery in Retsil.
