William Peyton BOYKIN was one of the younger of the ten children of Tobias BOYKIN & Asenith T. HODGES.

In 1882, William P. BOYKIN was boarding at 26 William Street in Savannah, and worked for the Central Railroad.

In 1889, he married Mary Tallulah HEIDT, "Molly" of Effingham County. They were the parents of two daughters:
• Cassie F. BOYKIN LANGSTON MCCOY, and
• Annie Will BOYKIN BAILEY.
