Thomas Meyer was the son of Egidius Meyer and Anna (Jungel) Meyer.
[Note many variations to the spelling of his parents' names in historical records.]

Historical records say that Thomas was born in Germany and Ontario,Canada. I will continue to look for proof of the location of birth including a second visit to the Maryhill, Ontario Historical Society.

In 1871, Thomas (head of household), 11 siblings, and their mother (widow) lived on the family farm in Pilkington Township in Wellington County, Ontario.

Thomas married Magdalina Reinhart (spelling of her name ?) on March 31, 1880 at New Germany (now called Maryhill), Ontario, Canada. According to Thomas's record of death, 8 of their 11 children were living at the time of his death. At least 5 of the children were born in Ontario, Canada.

In 1881, Thomas and Magdalina lived on a farm in Pilkington Township. On the Census it looks like they lived 2 properties away from where Thomas's mother (widow) and his 9 siblings lived (brother Michael was the head of that household).

In 1886 and 1887, both Thomas and his brother Anthony lived at Concession 4, Lot 7, Riverstown in Arthur Township, Wellington County, Ontario. Anthony wasn't married yet.

In 1890, both Thomas and his brother John lived at that same address. John wasn't married yet. Brother Anthony lived elsewhere.

Thomas and his family moved to Michigan, U.S.A. about 1892.

His occupation from 1871 to 1900 was 'Farmer', except for 1881 where he was listed as a 'Stone Mason'.
