Caroline Meyer nee Ahrens was born in Gasconade county, MO., Nov. 28, 1846. In 1885 seh was married to Gottlieb Meyer. In 1874 they moved to Saline Co., MO., and in 1877 to Rush county, Kans., took a government claim and have resided here ever since.
Decedent was the mother of fourteen children. One died in Missouri, five died since coming here, and five sons and three daughters survive her to mourn their loss. Her husband died three years ago. She was a member of the German M.E. church and has led a Christian life to the end. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ponath, after which the remains were interred in the German M.E. cemetery -- From LaCrosse (KS) Chieftain, p.1, Fri. 5-9-1902.
