Edward Vanous, 83, died Monday, March 23, 1998 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Reverend Alvin Sather officiating. Rev. Sather also provided special music. Casketbearers were Dan Anderson, John Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Jeremy Anderson and David Anderson.

Visitation was held from noon until 5 p.m. on Thursday at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls.

Edward Henry Vanous was born January 23, 1915 In Roseau County to Edward and Katherine (Keller) Vanous. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Edward was a farmer and laborer and lived in many different locations during his lifetime.

On November 7, 1964 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Dokken Anderson at Newfolden.

Edward is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Thief River Falls; step children, Morris (Karen) Anderson of Butte, MT, Myrtle Finney of Cedar, Joann Hammer of Lake Bronson, John (Rhonda) Anderson of Thief River Falls, and David Anderson of Strandquist; three sisters, Marcella Schyvincht of Greenbush, Kathleen Weflen of Williston, ND and Katherine Nelson of Butte, MT and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Nordhagen, and four brothers, Albert Vanous, Fred Vanous, Rudy Vanous and Joe Vanous.
