Traffic Accident Proves Fatal to Former Resident

Steve C. Roth, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Roth, Sr., and brother of Mrs. Cecil Fuller, all of Shamrock, was fatally injured last Saturday in a head-on traffic accident in Oakland, Calif.

Mr. Roth's car was struck by an automobile driven by a highway patrolman who was giving chase to another car.

Mr. Roth, 35, years old, died two hours after the accident which occurred about 7 p.m.

Military funeral services were held in Oakland at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday). Mr. and Mrs. Roth attended the rites but Mrs. Fuller was unable to make the trip because of illness.

Mr. Roth was born in Shamrock, and entered military service when he was 18 years old. He was engaged as a plumber in California at the time of his death.

Survivors are his wife, Charlotte; one son, Leslie, 9, and one daughter, Deborah, 7, all of Los Alamos, N.M.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Rith Sr., Shamrock; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Fuller, Shamrock, and Mrs. Ernie Ike and Mrs. Bob Reese, both of Oakland, Calif,; and two brothers, Clifton Roth, Oakland, Calif., and Harold Roth, Kansas City, Mo.
