Ada Jones, 91, of Beech Mountain, NC, went to be with her Lord following an extended illness on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Roan Highlands Nursing Center.


She was the daughter of the late Frank Benjamin and Sarah McGuire Jones and was born in Avery County, NC. Mrs. Jones worked in Avery Co. Schools and at Lees-McCrae College as a cook. She loved to quilt, garden and crochet in her spare time. She was of the Baptist Faith.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Basil Jones, Judd Jones, Glen Jones, three sisters, Fairy Church, Mayzie Hagie, and an infant sister, Lucille Jones.


Mrs. Jones is survived by three sons, two daughters, Jthirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, one brother, a half-brother, and several nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at The Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The funeral service for Mrs. Jones will be conducted on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Beech Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Church, Rev. Ray Green and Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.


The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Kimmel, Dr. Earwood, and the doctors, nurses and staff of Charles A. Cannon, Jr. Memorial Hospital and Roan Highland Nursing Center and Caris Hospice for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Jones and the family.
