Chandler, a former New York playboy known along Broadway as the 'Million Dollar Kid,' was a member of the New Hampshire banking. At 23 years of age he invaded Broadway with $1 million he inherited from his father. He spent lavishing on cast members and also backed two shows 'Miss Molly May' and 'Betsy.' He was married four times including one marriage to Ziegfeld Follies girl Grace LaRue.
