Lester Lewis Mayfield of Paragould, Ark. died Wednesday, June 7, 1989 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark. He was 76. He was born Sept. 5, 1912 at Scopus, son of the late Alonzo L. Mayfield and Sarah Barks Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield had been a long time Leachville, Ark. resident before moving to Paragould in 1986. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Leachville First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Mayfield of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Alice Goehman of Arcadia; one stepson, Dennis Blocker of Manila, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Pattie Scott and Mrs. Karen Logins both of Eldorado, Ark.; one brother, Milford Mayfield of St. Peters; one sister, Elsie Morgan of Lutesville. Funeral services were held Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Howard Funeral Service in Leachville. Burial was in Leachville Cemetery.
