Visitation for John H. Earley Sr., 79, of Brazoria, Texas, formerly of St. Anne, will be from 11 a.m. Friday until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Glancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee.
Burial will be in Momence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Michael Debekey V.A. Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Earley was an auto mechanic for Tedford Brothers. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a member of the St. Anne VFW. He was born Aug. 28, 1926 in Milks Grove, the son of Roy and Hazel Schulte Earley. His wife, the former Carolyn Bryant, whom he married Oct. 9, 1946 in Kankakee, died Feb. 19, 1994.
Surviving are five sons and two daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Earley of Kankakee, John Earley Jr. of Joliet, Richard "Rick" Earley and his fiancée, Ronda Granite of Shoals, Texas, Kenneth Earley, and Darryl and Nicole Earley, all of Brazoria; nine daughters and four sons-in-law, Judith Earley of Brazoria, Carol and Mike Gilbert of Elkhart, Ind., Mary Ann Earley of Ft. Worth, Texas, Liz Taylor and Bob Parkinson of Kankakee, Susan and Mike Metras of Buckingham, Paula and Dennis Ball of Brooklyn, N.Y., Donna and Monte Sweitzer of Bradley, Janice Earley and her fiancé, Victor Stephens of Arlington, Texas, Janet Earley and her finance' Robin Richey of Bourbonnais; 43 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister and brother-in-law, Ella Mae and Kenneth Gresham of Bradley; and one brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Ardith Earley of Bradley.
Three sons, Michael, Robert and Brian; and two grandsons, Robert Thomas and Troy Gilbert, are deceased.
