Ernestine Carr Higson, 65, of Cookeville, Tenn., formerly of Spotsylvania County, died of cancer Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1940, to Buford O. Carr and Grace Trimble Carr.
Ms. Higson is survived by her daughters, Michelle Keyser Cunningham of Williamsburg, Melinda Shinlever of Cookeville and Darlene Barnes of Fredericksburg; a son, Roger Carroll of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Caden Cunningham, Jacob Cunningham, Mazen Cunningham and Caleb Keyser; five sisters, Evelyn Allen of Woodford, Janet Hwilka of Waldorf, Md., and Nadine Haley, Grace Reynolds and Celeste Houdershelt, all of Spotsylvania County; one brother, Harold Carr of Spotsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Gloria Woodell; her twin sister, Ethelene Gallahan; and her brothers, Chester Carr and Buster Carr.
