Church Hill - Nellie A. Lawson, 90, of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord at 7:30 a.m. Monday (April 20, 2009) at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Surgoinsville, had been a resident of Church Hill most of her life and was a member of Valley Center United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Lawson in 2005; a daughter, Susan Ruth Lawson and several sisters and brothers.

Surviving are her son, Joel Lawson of the home and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill, 1115 Highway 11W, Church Hill, TN.

A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Calvin Tabor officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Bethel Church Cemetery.
