George's parents are Samuel Brooks and Nancy Chappell, both from North Carolina. His known siblings are William M, Moses, Ellen L, Columbus Lafayette, Sherrell, Joel, Houston, Young, David and Jessie Brooks.

She married Frances Monroe (Fannie) Stroope, September 6, 1888 in Texas. Their known children are Bertha May, Jennie Josephine (Josie) and Clarence Olin Brooks.

Suggested edit: George Brooks married Miss Fannie Stroops on 6 September 1888. The couple moved to Young County in 1911 and located near Jean, Texas. They were residents of Graham for several years and lived at Post, Texas for four years. His wife preceded him in death.

Services for George Brooks, 86, were held at the Jean Baptist Church officiated by Everett Morgan, minister of the Olney Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. Hubert Foust, pastor of First Baptist Church in Graham.

Mr. Brooks was born in North Carolina, near Boonville, Yadkin County. He moved to Kentucky in 1873 and to Arkansas in 1874 and then to Texas in 1884.

Survived by two daughters - Mrs. N.Z. Abbott, Mrs. W.F. Brazelton; one son - Clarence Brooks; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
