OBITUARY:
Mrs Sallie M Crockett, was born in Morgan CO, MO, on June 20, 1849. She was a
daughter of Mr & Mrs Milton O Finley who were pioneers in Morgan CO, having
come from Kentucky. Her father went to California in 1849 being one in the
covered wagon train. He died before he could bring his family to his new home,
therefore her mother with 7 children were left to struggle up through those
dreadful days of the Civil War.

On November 8, 1867, she was united in marriage to Samuel M Crockett, of
Cooper CO, MO. To this union, 9 children were born, Maggie, deceased; Robert
F, of Lamar; Geo P, deceased; Mrs Lou Daughtry, of Pittsbur, KA, Mrs Nannie
White of Twin Falls, Idaho; Wm R of Lamar, MO; C O, of Stockton, Polly,
deceased, Barney of Irwin. She has 25 Grandchildren and 21 Great
Grand-children.

In 1900 the family came to Barton CO where in 1910 her husband died. Since
then she made her home with the youngest son, Barney. She has been a constant
but patient sefferer for many years, the past two months she was very feeble,
tow weeks ago she began to fail very fast and at 2:00 o'clock a m, March 21,
she died as peaceful as she lived. So ended 84 years, 9 months, 1 day of
physical life, but not so with the spiritual, for when she was a girl of 17
years she was saved by the blood of Christ. She united with the Cumberland
Presbyterian church of Otterville, MO. At the time of her departure she was a
member of the Hopewell C P church in Barton CO. She was a loving mother.
