Son of John Hensley. After the Civil War, he moved with his parents and some of his siblings to Prairie, Boone, Arkansas for a time where his parents are buried. He moved up to Leavenworth, Kansas where he met his wife, Angeline Rhea and they married on 31 Aug 1871 in Leavenworth County, Kansas. They remain in Kansas until about 1898 at which time they moved down to the "Cherokee Nation Territory" in Oklahoma to farm land. This area became Martin, Muskogee, Oklahoma where he remained until he died. During the 1920 Census, his son Jesse (widower) and his children were living with him. In 1916 Jesse's wife died and is buried at this cemetery.
