Although there is no written proof at this time, most researchers of this family line would agree that John was the probable son of Henry Harry Hensley and Barbara Angell born on their 200 acre homestead located in the Caney River Community on Bald Mountain Creek, now Yancey Co., NC. John continued to live and raise a family in this area near until after the Civil War. On or about 1868, John, wife and some of their children (Amanda, Goodson, William and Baxter) moved to Boone Co., Arkansas and were noted in the 1870 Census. He died after the 1870 Benton Twp, Boone Co., AR Census.
