Master Sgt. Leon Coada, U.S. Air Force Retired, age 75 went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 19, 2009. He served 20 years in the Air Force serving in the States, Korea, Vietnam, Germany, Okinawa, and Greenland taking part in the installation of Military Radar Sites. Upon his retirement he was employed by Permagrain Inc. and retired there in 1998, after which he fulfilled a lifetime dream traveling throughout the United States and Alaska. He was born in Happy Valley and spent his early years living in Cades Cove. He was preceded in death by: Parents, John C. Coada and Mary Jane Cable Coada; Son, Steven Leon Coada; Brothers, Arvil "Ray" Coada, Lee "Roy" Coada, Jerry T. Coada; Sister, June Jones. Survivors include: Wife, Ofelia Coada; Son, John Coada; Daughters, Susan O'Connor, Teri Bivens & husband Steve, and Marissa Coada; Grandson, Lynn O'Connor; Granddaughter, Megan Cable; Great-Granddaughter, Cassie Wilkerson; Loving Sisters, Faye Johnson, Johnnie Shinpaugh, and Mary Ruth Hunt; Ex-wife and close friend, Louise Teffeteller Dyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
