Deceased Name: Bartley Litz Lower OGDEN - Bartley Litz Lower, age 79, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2001 (Christmas night) at McKay-Dee Hospital.
Bart was born December 12, 1922 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Samuel Steven Lower and Mary Oka Litz.
He married Donna M. Mather on September 26, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Bart was an active member of the LDS Church, and very active in local politics. He helped organize the OUR&D Railroad Clerks Union; umpired baseball in Utah, Idaho and Montana Pioneer League; refereed basketball for high school, church and college; and was a graduate of George Barr"s Umpire School in Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Donna M. Lower of Ogden; children, Bruce (Bonnie) of Richmond, UT; ShaRon Nelson of So. Ogden; Mark of American Fork, Utah; Lori (Greg) Bevenger of Cody, Wyoming; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Ann Rhinehart, Highland, UT; Helen (Jack) Simmons, Logan, UT; Mary (Boyd) Maughan, Logan, UT; and Sam (Dianne) Lower, Plain City, UT.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, older brother, Max W. Lower; and one son, Max W. Lower II.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., with President Allen Taylor officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lewiston City Cemetery on Monday at 2 p.m.
