Edward was the son of William Abbott and Sarah Ann Reeson. He married Sadie Bartlett on Oct 16, 1906 in Vail, IA. They were the parents of Edward.

Denison Bulletin - Friday , October 15th, 1948 - Edward Abbott died Friday morning Oct 8 at one at the Denison hospital at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 26 days. Mr Abbott's health had been poor for some time, becoming critical the past several months.

Mr Abbott was born in Grimoldby, England, March 11, 1881. He came to America with his parents in March 1882. His youth and early manhood were spent in this vicinity.

He was married Oct 16, 1906 to Sadie E Bartlett at the St Johns Episcopal church in Vail. To them was born one son, Edward.

In May 1926 the family moved to Long Prairie, Minn., where they resided for seven years. In July 1932 they returned to Vail where they resided until June 1, 1939 when they moved to Denison where they have since made their home.

He is survived by his widow, his son, Edward, his daughter-in-law and grandson, Mark Edward, one sister, Mrs. S.G Slechta, one brother, Roy, of Vail, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother. Thomas, and two sisters who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Episcopal church in Denison Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and at St. John's Episcopal church in Vail at three o'clock. The Rev. D.J. Curzon conducted the services. Masonic services by Sylvan Lodge No. 507 AF and AM were conducted at the grave. Interment was made in the Vail cemetery. Pallbearers were- Lloyd Dozark, Leonard Baker, Joseph Ridgley, Rodney Worth, Leonard Wulf and Everett Crane.

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were James Taplin, Hattie Bruhn and son, Lawrence, Loraine Gray and Mable Bruce of Clinton, Mr and Mrs Thomas Manly of Sioux City, Mr and Mrs Melvin Abbott, Mr and Mrs Orville Abbott, and Mr and Mrs Orville Petty and family of Storm Lake .....
