Obituary:

Lorena Barnard, 99, of Cushing, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in Resthaven Nursing Home in Cushing. Graveside services will be in Osage Cemetery in Agra Monday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Larry Eslinger will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home will direct the services.

She was born in Agra Nov. 23, 1904, to Dave and Carrie (Gentry) Estes. She married N.G. �Pickett� Barnard in 1920 in Agra. He preceded her in death in 1971. She attended Oakdale rural school, east of Agra. After her education, she was married and the couple remained in the Agra area until 1932, when they moved to Colorado where they homesteaded. During her life time, she was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Though talented in many areas of life, her greatest joy was found in her relationships with her children and family. She was a member of the Presbyterian faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.

She is survived by Cherry Lewis of Ripley; one son and two daughters from Colorado; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
