James Cleborn "Cleby" Broxton, of Waynesville, NC, died April 18, 2009, in Clyde, NC, after an extended illness.

He was the son of Sarah Eleanor Terry Bowers and the late James Henry Broxton.

Cleby received his BS Degree in Psychology/Math from the University of SC and his MA Degree in Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. He had been a Rehabilitation Therapist and a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program Coordinator with the Smoky Mountain Center in Sylva, NC, and was also the Director of the Haywood PSR with the Meridian Behavioral Services.

He enjoyed spending his leisure time in the outdoors and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Broxton is survived by his mother of Brunson, SC, two sons, Bradley Cleborn Broxton of Beaufort, SC, and James Gregory Broxton of New York City, NY; his step-father, William L. "Billy" Bowers of Brunson, SC, his step-brother, William K. "Bill" Bowers of Brunson and his special friend, Ruth Ann Briscoe of Waynesville, NC.

He was predeceased by his brother, Francis Burrell Broxton.
