LONG RESIDENT OF STATE DIES

Mrs. Ella Lynes Came to Plainfleld from Virginia in 1872; Funeral Wednesday.

Mrs. Ella Alydia Lynes, 77, died at 11 p. m. Sunday at the home of her son, F. F. Lynes, 219 Newell street, of complications incident to advanced age.

Ella Alydia Ketchum was born Oct. 24, 1849, at Lockport, N. Y., the daughter of William and Mary Ketchum. She moved with her parents to Wisconsin when a small girl and following the Civil war to Virginia.

In 1872 she came to Plainfield, Ia., where she taught school for one year and on Dec. 11, 1873, was married Ihere to William W. Lynes. He preceded her in death there on April 7, 1905. She was a member of the Baptist church at Plainfield.

Surviving are two stepchildren, James J. Lynes, Waverly, and Mrs. Edith Collins, 337 Argyle street; and the following children: Frank Fay Lyncs, 219 Newell street; Mrs. Ina Brodie, Waverly, and Glen Guy Lynes, Sioux City. Fourteen grand children, two great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Anna L. Downs also survive.

Brief prayer services will be conducted at 11:30 a. m. Wednesday in the Petersen Bros. chapel, Rev Warren L. Steeves, pastor of Walnut Streel Baptist church, officiating. The body will be taken to Plainfield, where services will be conducted at 2 p. m. in the Plainfield Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Lawn cemetery at Plainfield.
