Jessie Lavina Lambert, 93, of 13634 First St., Midway Addition, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2009, at her home.

Born Dec. 31, 1915, in East St. Louis to Clifford Paul and Lavina Taylor (Smith) Seaton, she married Elmer LeRoy Lambert on Dec. 26, 1936, in Hennepin. He died Aug. 5, 2005, in Pekin.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, two infant grandsons, one step granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are four daughters, Elma J. Chrestenson, Bonnie F. (James Jr.) Boyd and Patricia G. (D. Neale) Hanley, all of Pekin, and Connie L. (Bruce Binkley) Kieser of Morton; seven grandchildren, Douglas (Lisa) Chrestenson of Elgin, David (Beth Potter) Chrestenson of Farmington, Stacey (Brian) Nannen, Christine (Rusty) Dunn, Jennifer (Chad) Hartley and Eric Weiland, all of Pekin, and Jay Fulton of East Peoria; three step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; two step great-great-granddaughters; two brothers, Donald (Dotty) Seaton of Washington and James (Gail) Seaton of Delavan; and one sister, Mary (Bill) Hanson of Metamora.

Jessie owned Lambert's K-9 Kennels and also was a professional dog groomer for 18 years. She bred and showed poodles, schnauzers and cocker spaniels. She and her husband showed dogs at American Kennel Club events throughout the United States and Canada. She was a member of the Pimiteoui Poodle Club of Peoria.

She was a member of South Pekin Congregational Church, where she was a former member of the Ladies Aid Society. She received the 2002 Mother of the Year award at the church. She had been a 4-H leader for the Kids and K-9 Club in Pekin for many years and was a dog show judge for the Tazewell County 4-H Fair.

Jessie enjoyed cooking, reading, flower gardening and needlework.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
