Virginia Fleek was the daughter of Conrad Fleek and Nancy Leatherman. After the early death of her parents she lived with her sister Elizabeth Fleek McKillip and her brother in-law James McKillip. On June 23 1865 she married William Mahin, son of Hester Shigley and John Mahin. To this union was born 4 children: Olive S Mahin, Augustus Edwin Mahin, Estella E Mahin, and Lillian Isabelle Mahin.

"On July 23, 1865,William Mahin married Miss Virginia Fleek, who died October 24, 1914. She was born in Lafayette, IN. December 8, 1844. a daughter of Conrad and Nancy Fleek. Her father was a wagon maker of Lafayette, and lost his life while fighting a fire. Of the marriage of William and Virginia Mahin there are four children: Olive S., wife of Elmer Skinner of Morocco, IN; Augustus E.; Estella E.; wife of William Snyder of Long Beach, CA.; and Miss Lillian Belle, who is unmarried and lives in Lafayette."
