Vera Ethel Marion of Elkin passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Marion was born April 11, 1922 in Wilkes County to Will & Ada Cheek Pardue.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Pardue, Ansel Pardue and Marvin Pardue; a sister, Ada Evie Pardue; a stepson-in-law, Brady Riggs.
Survivors include: her husband, Carlie Marion of the home; a son, Edward "Bud" Bauguess and wife Gladys of Elkin; a stepson, Kenneth Marion of Mt. Airy; four stepdaughters, Jessie Watson and husband Donald of Greensboro, Lola Riggs of Yadkinville; Gladys Bauguess and husband Edward of Elkin; Jo Nell Creed of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Paul Pardue of Benham; Colonel Pardue and wife Joyce of Lexington; 19 step grandchildren; 32 step great grandchildren; 4 step great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
