The son of Andrew & Mary Sanford, immigrants who settled in Hartford, he married (1) Mary Botsford, daughter of my ancestors, HENRY & ELIZABETH (WOOLHEAD) BOTSFORD, on January 8, 1667/1668 in Milford, Conn. According to Jacobus, they were the parents of eight children. He married about 1688 (2) Sarah Gibbard, daughter of William Gibbard of New Haven & niece of Gov. Robert Treat, and they were the parents of two additional children. In 1669, Andrew "Samford" Sen. & Andrew "Samford" Jun. were listed as freemen of Milford.

On June 30, 1705, he deeded land to his daughter, Hannah Tuttle, and his two sons, Daniel & Andrew. And in September of 1705, Andrew Sanford, Jr. was made the administrator of his father's estate. Inventory was taken December 10, 1705 in Milford.
