Emeline S. Burkholder Felpel, 88, of Landis Homes Retirement Community, formerly of Akron, died Thursday evening at Ephrata Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of George S. Felpel, who died in 1988.
Born in Ephrata Township, she was a daughter of the late Ezra P. and Elizabeth Stauffer Burkholder.
She was employed by the former Miller-Hess Shoe Factory, Akron, for many years. She was a member of Stumptown Mennonite Church in Bird-in-Hand.
Surviving are three sons, Melvin B., husband of Emma Bowman Felpel of Ephrata, Gerald B. of Akron, and Glenn B. of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Margaret B., wife of Warren B. Boll of Akron; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Nora Weaver of Ephrata.
