Local Attorney Lester Morris Funeral Today

Services for Lester L. Morris. 65, of 240 S. Old Manor, senior partner in the law firm of Morris, Laing, Evans and Brock, who died Thursday, will be at! 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Gill Mortuary. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.

The attorney, whose hobby was gardening, died of a heart attack while working in his "pea patch" garden on the west side of the city Thursday night.

He was born at Clifton, Kan., had attended Baker University, Baldwin, Kan., and received his law degree from University of Kansas in 1927.

WHILE AT KU he was a member of Order of the Coif, a law school fraternity, Phi Delta Phi, a legal fraternity, and Lambda Chi Alpha, a social fraternity.

He was a director and general counsel for First Federal Savings and Loan Association and Western Lithograph Co. He was a member of Wichita Country Club, Wichita Club, Petroleum Club, and Farm and Ranch Club.

Survivors include his widow, Edith; and two brothers, Raymond, Topeka, and Chester, Leavenworth, Kan.

A memorial has been established at Baker University.Gill Mortuary records list his birth date as 19 Oct 1901.
