MATHIS, LELA BLANCHE JENKINS -age 93 of Kingston passed away Friday Jan. 28, 2000 at Royal Care of Harriman. Member of Cave Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Lela was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Mathis; son, Noah Mathis; parents, Jim & Addie Robinson Jenkins; stepmom/aunt Stella Robinson Jenkins; sisters, Carrie Farmer, Hazel Guettner, Maude Galyon; brother, Roy Jenkins. Survived by children: Cecil Mathis and Betty of Indianapolis, Ind., Margaret Parker, Kingston, Robert and Mattie Mathis of Pigeon Forge; grandchildren, Steve Mathis, Larry Mathis, John Mathis, Chuck Mathis, and Joe Mathis, all of Indianapolis, Ind., Harold Rather and Carolyn West, both of Loudon, Wayne Rather of Danville, Ill., Lisa Arnold of Kingston, and Amanda Mathis of Nashville; several great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth, Carl and Virgil Jenkins, Kinston; sisters, Laura Belle Wright, Kingston, Betty Abbott of Kingston, and Ruth Bohannon, Rockwood; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cave Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder J.B. Huskey and Elder Marvin Smith officiating. The body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in the Cave Creek Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.
