E.H. Bond Dies Monday
Elmer H. Bond, 66, Town Creek, Rt. 3,died Monday night at 10:10 o'clock at the Colonial Rest Home, Decatur, Rt. 1, after an illness of four years.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lawrence County and was a retired farmer. Mr. Bond was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church for the past 45 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Lou Bond, Town Creek, Rt. 3; two sisters, Mrs. Roxie Rutherford, of Town Creek, Rt. 3, and Mrs. W. R. Sears, Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, W.B. Bond, Courtland, Rt., 1; R.L. Bond, Denton, Tex., and A.C. Bond of Lone Wolf, Okla., and a number of more distant relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Gum Springs Baptist church with Rev. Jack Carroll, pastor of the Okolona Baptist church of Lawrence County, officiating, assisted by Rev. Joe Henderson, a Baptist minister. Burial will be in the Rutherford Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home, Sheffield, directing.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 11 a.m. Wednesday when it will be removed to the church and remain there until time for services.
