Mrs. Rutherford Dies Early Today
Mrs. Roxie Ann Bond Rutherford of 1612 Hillcrest avenue, Sheffield, died at 2 a.m. today at the Colonial Rest Home, in Decatur, after seven weeks illness.
She was a native of Lawrence County, having lived there all her life until seven weeks, ago, when she moved to Sheffield to make her home with her son. She entered the rest home Saturday. Mrs. Rutherford was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church, in Lawrence County.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Gum Springs with burial to follow in Rutherford cemetery.
The body will remain at Spry Funeral Home in Sheffield until time to leave for the service.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Rutherford, Sheffield; a son, Howard Rutherford, Sheffield; two brothers, W.B. Bond, Decatur, and A.C. Bond, Lone Wolf, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. W.K. Sears, Orlando, Fla.; and one grandson, Dempsey Rutherford, Sheffield; a number of nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be W.B. Jeffreys, Alex Rutherford, Dave Rutherford, Mitchell Latham, James Barnett and Otis Parker. Honorary bearers will be Jesse Barnett, Thomas Rutherford, Roy Rutherford, Wert Rutherford, Joseph Pierce, and Green Pierce.
Spry of Sheffield will have charge of arrangements.
