Ardath Mary Arnell Mecham, 81, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died June 5, 2001 in Spanish Fork, UT. She was born November 10, 1919, in St. Charles, Bear Lake, Idaho, to Albert A. and Mary Michaelson Arnell.She married Wendell Rulon Mecham on July 26, 1941. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple November 10, 1944. Her husband, Wendell, preceded her in death in April 1994.
Her fondest memories were of growing up on the farm, going up the canyon, and having great times with her family in St. Charles, Idaho, a place she dearly loved and would always call "home." She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions throughout her life.
She loved reading, teaching children, sports, playing games, being outdoors, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons and their spouses; Alan W. & Sherry of Spanish Fork, UT and ElRay & Ann of West Jordan, UT; two sisters, Stella Nelson of Fish Haven, Idaho and Valois Barker of St. Charles, Idaho; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Palmyra Stake Center, 505 E. 900 North, Spanish Fork. Friends and family may call Friday, June 8, 2001 from 6-7 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 South, Springville, or Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
