MONTPELIER - William DeLloyd Arnell, 87, passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho.
He was born June 17, 1912 in St. Charles, Idaho to Albert Alvin Augustus and Susannah Mary Michaelson Arnell, the sixth child and youngest son of nine children.
He was married to Melba Rich Pugmire on December 20, 1939 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were the parents of four children.
He was a very active member of the LDS Church, where he served in many capacities including bishop of the Montpelier Second Ward for six years, high councilman, various teaching positions, and three stake missions. He and his wife worked at the Logan, Utah LDS Temple as officiators for 12 years.
He loved sports. He played on many baseball and basketball teams in his youth. In later years he enjoyed golf and bowling. He also enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to hunt and fish.
DeLloyd is survived by his wife, of Montpelier; four children, Karen (Dennis) Welch of West Jordan, Utah, Carolyn (Wayne) Tufts of Soda Springs, Idaho, Lonny DeLloyd (Mary Louise) Arnell of West Valley, Utah, and Linda Arnell of Montpelier; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Stella Nelson of Fish Haven, Idaho, Valois (Almy) Barker of St. Charles, Idaho, and Ardath Mecham of Spanish Fork, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. in the Montpelier First Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Matthews Mortuary this evening, Friday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery.
