Services for David W. Walton, 76, of Palestine, will be held at 3 p.m. today at Westwood Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Dees and Bro. Ken Baker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home Palestine. Mr. Walton passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Tyler. He was born September 2, 1932 in Percilla, to Douglas E. and Luna Mae Bridges Walton. He attended Grapeland High School. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and worked as a sales merchandiser for Save-a-Stop, Inc.,and then retired from Wal-Mart. Mr. Walton was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 45-years, June Walton; daughters; Jeanie Walton, Tracie Campbell and husband Wayne, and Linda McNeill and husband Joel; sisters, Ruth Logan, Joann Larkin, and Dorothy Larkin; brother William "Bill" Walton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Men of the Learner Sunday School Class, Bill Dunham, Leland Reinhard, Archie Thomas, and Neel Meeker.
