ROLAND F SCHNELL

Roland F. Schnell, 90, of 507 Calumet Ave., Kiel, died Wednesday, June 8, 1994 at his home. He was born May 29, 1904 in Steinthal, Manitowoc County, son of the late Anton and Marguerita Basil Schnell. He attended St. Gregory Catholic School in St. Nazianz.

On April 23, 1929 he married Hattie K. Kautzer at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. After working at the Kiel Woodenware, the couple moved to the Town of Schleswig to engage in farming. He retired in 1969 and they moved back to Kiel in 1992. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie, Kiel; two sons, Sherman (Rosie) and Richard (Dorothy); one daughter, Bernice (Tom) Keller, all of Kiel; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert, Sheboygan, and Othmar, Menomonee, Mich., and one sister, Meta Schnell, Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one son, Harland; one daughter, Margaret; four brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys, SDS officiating. Burial was in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
