Mrs. Anna Schnell Laid To Rest Tuesday A.M.; Passed Away Saturday
Mrs. Anna Schnell, age 87, died at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan on Saturday night at 9:45 o'clock following a lengthy illness.
The deceased was born April 10, 1860, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret Herr, in the town of Meeme. On Jan. 10, 1882, she was married to John Schnell, and the couple settled on a farm in the town of Eaton, now operated by a son, Andrew. For the past 30 years Mrs. Schnell made her home in this city.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Loos, Loyal, Mrs. Anton (Mary) Schneider, Newton, Mrs. Frank (Emma) Utecht, Hales Corners, Mrs. Rose Menne, Kiel, and Mrs. Justin (Viola) Harkins, town of Russell; 2 sons, Henry of Roberts, Idaho, and Andrew of the town of Eaton; 36 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Albert Herr, Greenwood.
Mr. Schnell preceded his wife in death March 17, 1903. Two children also preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at the Meiselwitz Funeral home, and at 9:30 o'clock at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with the Rev. F. X. Khell officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Schnell was a member of the Christian Mothers' society, and the group met at 7:30 p.m. Monday to recite the rosary.
