Age 68 First name looks to be CHRISTANE, not Jane. The "CHRIS" has been chipped off, the "J" is crossed as though it were once a "T", and there is an "E" squeezed in after the "AN". The dates were also altered, as though someone deliberately changed the name to Jane and carved the new dates over the old ones.
I believe the original inscription was: In Memory Of Christan Harding Who Died Sep 10th, 1831 In the 60th Year Of Her Age.
