Kiel – Joseph Schneider, Sr., aged 84 passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Meyer near Kiel, Tuesday after an illness of four weeks. He was born May 19, 1851, at Centerville and was educated in the Centerville schools. After completing his education he engaged in farming both in the town of Centerville and Meeme. Eighteen years ago he retired and he and his wife moved to Kiel.
In 1877 he was untied in marriage to Anna Salm, who preceded him in death December 22, 1923. Since the death of his wife he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Meyer. To the couple were born nine children of whom one passed away in infancy.
Survivors are eight children, Mrs. Joseph Gries and Mrs. Peter Stein of the town of Meeme, Mrs. Charles Meyer of near Kiel; William Schneider of Chilton, Joseph Schneider of near Kiel, Anthony Schneider, John Schneider and Alvin Schneider all of the town of Meeme.; ?? grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and two brothers, George Schneider Sr., of Brillion and Frank Schneider of Cleveland.
Funeral services will be at the home of his daughter and at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and burial will be in the church cemetery.
