Mary was the wife of Robert Giffin. She continued to live at the farm, in Ohio Co., WV, after Robert's death. I assume she died there. West Alexander cemetery records, list her date of death as 7 Jan 1891 at age 78 of "Heart Failure". Her burial date is recorded as 9 Jan 1891.

There is some confusion in the records over the death date of Mary Jane Arthur Giffin. An index to Ohio County death certificates records her death from "Heart Disease" as being on 26 Oct 1890 at age 78y, 11m, and 7d. There appears to be no actual death certificate in the archives.

West Alexander cemetery records, however, list her date of death as 7 Jan 1891 at age 78 of "Heart Failure". Her burial date is recorded as 9 Jan 1891.
