Death Claims Fontana Woman

Mrs. Mary Rossmiller Dies Christmas Day; Buried At Burlington

Mrs. Mary Rossmiller, a resident of Fontana for many years, passed away in the home of her son, E. H. Rossmiller, on Christmas day at 10:10 in the morning, after a brief illness. She was nearly 80 years of age.

Mary Anna, one of seven children of Henry and Anna Mary Thiegs was born on Feb 14, 1862, in Munster, Wisc., where she lived until her marriage to Henry Rossmiller on Aug. 3, 1881. She received her education in the Catholic school in Waterford, Wisc.

After living in Waterford a short time, they moved to Burllington where they resided until the family moved to Fontana some 34 years ago.

Her husband died in January 1925, and a sister, Josephine Thiegs, who made her home with them after they moved to Fontana, died later the same year. Three sons, Alfred, Eugene and Walter, all of Fontana, and two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Easterday, Constantine, Mich., and Mrs. Helen Minard, Chicago, survive.

Charles Turbush, Walworth, a nephew of the deceased was reared in the Rossmiller home after his mother died when he was 18 months old. Fourteen grand children, five great grandchildren, and two grand nephews survive.

Funeral services were held in St. Benedict's church on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, the Rev. Stephen Peil officiating. Music was furnished by Leo Weidner and Mrs. Walter Schweiger of Sharon.

Pall bearers were John and George Fetherstone, Clare and Clayton Orcutt, Robert Stevenson and Lester Sullivan. Flowers were carried to the cemetery by Martin Fuhrman, a grandson. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery at Burlington.

Relatives called from other cities were Mrs. Ed Easterday, Constantine, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dickerman and Melvin Rossmiller, East Troy; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rossmiller, Sugar Creek; Mrs. William Manning, Chicago; Mrs. Everett Martin, Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Bud) Rossmiller, Plainfield, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rossmiller, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fuhrman, Bowler, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turbush, Walworth.
