Lois Hunter Cumbee, 81, of Blacksburg, died Friday, April 10, 2009. She was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on November 19, 1927, to the late Harry and Mary Legg Hunter. She is survived by her son, Gilbert Cumbee and Ann Cox, of Dublin; two grandchildren, Jennifer Horne and husband, Joe, Nathan Cumbee and girlfriend, Becky Peters; five greatgrandchildren, Hannah Martin, Kayla Horne, Kylie Peters, Alex Peters, and Cameron Harlow; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Bernard Linkous, of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Iris Hunter, of Dublin; daughter-in-law, Fran Cumbee; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the care givers, Tammy Melvin and Jennifer Arnold for the care shown. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Ellett with the Rev. Rador Vaden officiating. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday evening April 11, 2009, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Medi Home Health and Hospice, 5369 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019. Arrangement by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
