Lawrence D. Curtis, 78, of Tequesta, FL, formerly of East Hampton, died Wednesday (May 3, 2000) at his home in Florida. Born March 18, 1922 in New York City, son of the late Guy and Anna Mae Curtis, he was a retired engineering manager for Channel 8, WTNH-TV of New Haven. He was a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Engineering, a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge #112 and the American Legion Post #64 of East Hampton, and a lifetime member and chairman of the Society of BroadcastEngineers.He was an advisor to the faculty for the Multimedia Department of Southern Conn. State College. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Adair May (Winchester) Curtis; a daughter, Debra A. Curtis of Jupiter, FL; a son, Bradley R. Curtis of Manchester; two grandsons; and many, many friends in both Florida and Connecticut. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 7, at 8 p.m. in the Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton with the Rev. Thomas Kennedy officiating.Friendsmay call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery, East Hampton.
