Plainview- Services for Charlie M. Parks, 86, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. today in Lemons Funeral Home with the Rev Roland Burnett pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in McKinney officiating. Burial in Plainview Cemetery. Parks died Wednesday in Methodist Hospital in Plainview. He was born in Amarillo and grew up in the Liberty community, where he attended schools. He attended Wayland Baptist University and then engaged in farming with his father. He subsequently worked in home construction, was a taxidermist and was involved in archaeology. He was a member of the Finney Baptist Church. He married Dorthea Emma Buhrkuhl on Dec. 23, 1934 in Plainview. She died May 31, 1983 in Plainview. Survivors include two daughters Virginia Lester of Houston and Kathleen Attaway of Alabama, a son Dr. Francis M. Parks of Corpus Christi, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
