Henry Joseph Everett was a son of Jordan and Missouri Jane (Jennie) Kirksey Everett. The family came to Burnet County in 1884 and this is where he grew up. On October 12, 1910, Henry married Susan Gibson (Susie) Mallett in Burnet County and they were the parents of William Henry, Betty, Annie Belle and Robert Mallett Everett.

Friends and relatives at this place were deeply grieved when it was learned that Henry J. Everett had been called by death, January 2nd, 1951, at the Allen Clinic.

Funeral services were conducted January 3rd at 10:30 AM at the graveside in the Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Seiler officiating. The Edgar Funeral Home was in charge of the burial.

Pallbearers were Louis Long, J. O. Wilson of Bertram, Buck Gregg of Spicewood, Landon Proffitt of Burnet, T. H. Ashmore of Bertram and Frank Atkinson of Burnet.

Henry J. Everett was born in Colorado County, Texas, January 3, 1878. The family had moved to Burnet County in 1884 traveling in a covered wagon and, in later years, he engaged in farming and stockraising. At the time of his death, he had been a director of the Burnet County National Farm and Loan Association since 1919 and had always been proud of his connection to this organization. He had watched and helped it grow and change with the years.

Henry J. Everett was a fine man in every respect and numbered his friends by his acquaintances.

Those left behind to mourn the passing of this good man are his wife, Mrs. Susan Everett of Burnet; two daughters, Mrs. Ben Alexander of Burnet, and Mrs. Troy Reavis of Oakalla; one son, William, of Burnet; one sister, Mrs. Walter Hays of Marble Falls; and four brothers, Jordan Everett, Lampasas; R. O. Everett, Canton; Leonard Everett, Fort Worth; and Cecil Everett of Florence. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Mallett Everett.
