Obituary:
Ida Marie Claudean (Addington) Page, 86, of Wilder, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009. She went home to meet her Savior and to be reunited with her beloved husband, Ralph. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Wilder Cemetery.
She was born the fifth child of eight children to Dan and Harriet Malinda (Blackwell) Addington Sr. on Monday, Sept. 2, 1922, in Zena, Okla. She loved spending time with her family, going to church, crocheting, tending her flowers and garden.
Ida Marie met the "Love of her Life," Ralph Ermel Page, when she was 3 years old and he was only 6. They grew up together on neighboring farms in the hills of Oklahoma. They married on Saturday, Sept. 28, 1940, in Miami, Okla., at the age of 17 and 20. To this union four children were born.
They are Ralph Ray, Susanna Malinda, Darlene Jane and Thomas Elbert. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. "Her family was her life." They spent many happy weekends in the mountains of Idaho and Oregon camping with friends and family.
Mrs. Page worked in a clothing factory during World War II making khaki uniforms for the troops. She worked for J.R. Simplot Company for several years.
Ida Marie was a faithful and beloved member of the Free Holiness Church in Wilder for 49 years. She loved the church and her many friends and family that she fellowshipped with during that time. She said, "I would like a memory of me to be a happy one. I would like to leave an afterglow of smiles when my day is done." We will miss you greatly, Momma.
The family would especially like to thank all the wonderful staff and residents at Canyon West Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for their love and care over the last year of our beloved mother while she was a resident. We'd also like to thank Hearts for Hospice for their involvement during her final hours.
She is survived by her children: Ray (Marg) Page from Nyssa, Ore., Susie (Wesley) Hancock of Wilder, Darlene (Russell) Watkins of Roswell and Tom (Cathy) Page of Wilder. She has 12 grandchildren and their families: Tina Moran, Tammy Page, Tony Page, Shawn Harrison, Shane Hancock, Nikki Sorrell, Rachel Voight, Jeff Watkins, Randy Watkins, Jody Rueth, Laura Burns, and Ryan Page, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren (who all loved her very much), a sister-in-law, Sharon Addington of Miami, Okla., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from Oklahoma. She was proud of the fact that she was the last surviving Page member from the original 11 Page brothers and sisters and their spouses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, five brothers, Rex Addington, Ebb Addington, Dan Addington Jr., Wayne Addington, and Homer Addington, two sisters, Chrissie McRae and one sister who died at birth.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences for the family may be submitted online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
